Along the road of my reign as Mrs Beaverton America 2010, I have had many appearances. 2 of my favorite were the Sleep Country PJ Bowl @ Big Al's in Vancouver, WA and the Strike out against Parkinson's @ Sunset Lanes in Beaverton, OR. At these appearances I had the chance to meet foster children who are looking for good homes to go to. The ability to see how the foster care system first hand was amazing and right in line with my platform for "Speak out against domestic violence."

Helping at the event for Parkinson's was also an eye opener. I didn't know, that I know people with this life changing disease until that day, awareness truly is an an amazing thing no matter what the case!!!

In June all of the Mrs Oregon America contestants and Mrs Oregon J'oelle Rankins-Goodwin all attended the Naval Officers reception. It was a fun evening for us ladies to meet and great the Naval officers and tell them about our beautiful State and the different places to visit while here. This was also the first chance for many of the contestants to meet. We are forming such a great and lasting bond.

Strike Out Against Domestic Violence

On Saturday August 1 with the help of Sunset lanes a fundraiser was put together to help get awareness out about Domestic Violence. We had a 9 pin no tap fun bowl day. Many of the area business donated gift basckets and gift certificates to be raffeled off. The fundraiser made a little over $200 for Strike out against domestic violence. I have decided to make this an annual event although will be holding another one in the fall of this year. Many learning tips from the owners of Sunset lanes.
